Hy-Tek Intralogistics today announced that it has partnered with URBX to jointly market automation for the global high-density storage and retrieval market. Hy-Tek is now a registered integrator of URBX’s robots for high-throughput systems.

“At Hy-Tek, we are committed to bringing new and innovative solutions to the order-fulfillment process,” stated Zac Boehm, chief automation officer at Hy-Tek Intralogistics.  “Because automation is continually evolving to meet the rapid changes in the market, we are actively evaluating what’s next.”

“URBX is exactly the kind of business we want to work with as we keep pushing the leading edge of technology to help expedite and streamline processes for our customers,” he added.

With more than 60 years of experience, Hy-Tek said it specializes in optimizing supply chain processes through advanced distribution and fulfillment strategies. The Columbus, Ohio-based company said its “turnkey” offerings encompass support, consulting, integration, automation, facility planning, technology assessment, equipment, asset liquidation, controls, and software.

URBX offers flexible storage

“This collaboration represents a significant milestone in advancing innovative solutions to enhance supply chain and warehouse operations,” said Lincoln Cavalieri, CEO of URBX. “Hy-Tek’s impressive IntraOne software platform continuously pushes technical boundaries and provides market-relevant solutions for automation.”

Launched in 2023 from MassRobotics, URBX provides goods-to-person (G2P) automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). The Boston-based company said it uses robotics and machine learning to expedite the order-fulfillment process for warehouses and micro-fulfillment centers (MFCs).

URBX’s ASRS is designed to fit in warehouses up to 125 ft. (38.1 m) high and can accommodate 75 levels of totes, each capable of holding up to 100 lb. (45.3 kg). It said its artificial intelligence-driven grid routes the robots overhead and offers double-deep retrieval capability in three directions.

The company said its systems can handle multi-SKU orders, plus maximize density and scalability for storage space. URBX asserted that its ASRS can improve efficiency across the e-commerce, distribution, retail, and food and beverage industries.

IntraOne stack facilitates materials handling, says Hy-Tek

“Hy-Tek aligns perfectly with URBX’s commitment to find unique ways to improve efficiency and operations,” noted Hy-Tek Intralogistics.

The company added that its IntraOne “full-stack” platform is designed to “enhance the execution of activities and the flow of information, materials, and resources within operations.”

In the Hy-Tek Innovation Lab, customers can see picking, transportation, and storage technologies powered by IntraOne. They can also work with product-development teams to test these warehouse technologies to their specifications.

Hy-Tek said the IntraOne software, along with robotics and traditional material handling automation, can help transport and store goods and equipment. The company claimed that it is an “end-to-end” automation integrator across industries including manufacturing, distribution, retail, construction, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and automotive.

With more than 425 employees, Hy-Tek serves customers in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico from offices in seven U.S. states.
