Motivational Fulfillment & Logistics Services has more than 3 million sq. ft. (278,709 sq. m) of warehouse space in Southern California. The Chino, Calif.-based omnichannel logistics provider today said it has partnered with Locus Robotics to deploy mobile robots at two of its facilities serving a major distributor of household and kitchen appliances.

Founded in 1977, Motivational said it has omnichannel logistics expertise and easy access from the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. The company provides direct-to-consumer services, e-commerce fulfillment, and retail distribution to major consumer brands.

In addition, Motivational said it offers value-added services such as custom kitting, displays, product rework & refurbishment, re-boxing, reticketing, and more.

Motivational Fulfillment has a smooth rollout

Motivational Fulfillment said its deployment of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) demonstrates its commitment to its customers’ growth and to its own continuous improvement. The company also claimed that its strategic partnership with Locus Robotics shows its ability to use technology to better serve its clients.

“Integrating the new robotics into our systems was much easier than we could have imagined,” stated Tony Altman, CEO of Motivational. “This was largely thanks to the flexibility of our proprietary WMS [warehouse management system] and our exceptional in-house tech team.”

“The automation program underwent a smooth launch, and its success sets the stage for further automation initiatives across Motivational’s network,” said the company.

Locus Robotics improves efficiency, accuracy

Locus Robotics asserted that its LocusOne warehouse automation platform can double or triple productivity for piece handling, case handling, and pallet moving. The Wilmington, Mass.-based company said its collaborative AMRs, LocusHub monitoring system, and ease of integration into large-scale environments can help retailers, third-party logistics providers (3PLs), and specialty warehouses meet and exceed fulfillment demands.

Motivational Fulfillment reported that its warehouses are already seeing improvements in pick-and-pack efficiency and overall order accuracy.

“This effort has not only reduced manual labor for our warehouse associates; it has also led to faster fulfillment times and higher customer satisfaction,” said Altman.

“We’re thrilled to partner with Motivational Fulfillment & Logistics Services in their automation journey,” said Rick Faulk, CEO of Locus Robotics. “We’re proud to support Motivational’s commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction, and we look forward to driving further efficiencies together.”

In 2024 alone, Locus Robotics has won more than 27 industry awards. They include an RBR50 Robotics Innovation Award for surpassing 2 billion robot-assisted picks (it has since passed 3 billion) and the Fortress Cybersecurity Award. The company was also named to the Inc. 500 for the second year in a row and won a 2022 IFOY Award for its AMRs.
