Kardex has already deployed a solution that combines advanced robotic picking technology from BG with Kardex FulfillX WES for seamless warehouse integration.

Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) provider AutoStore introduced CarouselAI. The company designed this AI-powered robotic piece-picking system specifically for AutoStore, bringing advancements in automation to its warehouse picking operations.

CarouselAI is AutoStore’s first AI-powered robotic piece-picking solution, developed in partnership with Berkshire Grey. It automates the labor-intensive order-picking process with best-in-class SKU identification and 24/7 operation – boosting fulfillment efficiency.

Existing customers can upgrade from CarouselPort 4.0 with the CarouselAI Upgrade, a retrofit that comes without major infrastructure changes. Supported by AutoStore’s partner network, CarouselAI, this upgrade will be available in EMEA and North America in the summer of 2025.

At Berkshire Grey’s facility in Bedford, Mass., Kardex has integrated AutoStore and robotic item picking with Kardex FulfillX. The system picks up to 650 items/hr with 99.5% pick accuracy, it said.

AutoStore equipped the robot with a multi-functional SpectrumGripper with optimal grip detection. The SpectrumGripper fuses real-time sensor data with advanced AI models to continually optimize. This allows it to provide safe, error-free handling for diverse SKUs and packaging, different weights, textures, packaging, and more.

Kardex provides global intralogistics solutions with automated systems, services, and partnerships, emphasizing high availability and low costs. They offer storage and retrieval solutions from Berkshire Grey, Kardex FulfillX WES, and AutoStore.

Kardex has already deployed a solution that combines advanced robotic picking technology from BG with Kardex FulfillX WES for seamless warehouse integration.

“This is not a concept or prototype—it’s BG’s fully operational robotic item picking solution, integrated with AutoStore and Kardex FulfillX, that you can experience firsthand,” said Mitch Hayes, President of Kardex Solutions. “The technology and software are already deployed, proving its reliability and performance in a warehouse environment. If you’re interested in robotic bin picking with AutoStore, Kardex is the only partner offering a live demonstration with the BG robots today. This is one of the many reasons that Kardex is the fastest-growing global AutoStore partner.”

The company is offering a hands-on look at how Kardex FulfillX WES and AI-powered robots on April 29 at Berkshire Grey. Register now for the live demo at Berkshire Grey: Register to Attend Here
