FORTNA Inc. said OptiSweep brings flexible robotic technology to the sorter close-out process, replacing manual operations and legacy technologies. The company said it designed this system to transform labor-intensive and outdated sorting processes with advanced robotic technology that provides a fully automated, intelligent workflow.
OptiSweep works with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) from Geekplus Technology Co. The system autonomously retrieves orders from sorter divert locations and transports them to purpose-built goods-to-person (G2P) stations for streamlined bulk consolidation and outbound handling.
At the center of this ecosystem is FORTNA intelligent software. The company said its proprietary algorithms can dynamically orchestrate robot fleets, synchronize with sorter systems, and balance product flow to maximize throughput.
Designed for seamless integration, OptiSweep supports throughput requirements ranging from 4,000 to over 34,000 units per hour and effortlessly scales with demand fluctuations. FORTNA claimed that this provides extended runtimes, higher accuracy and continuous, disruption-free operations.
