The Mecalux Group said it has strengthened its technology infrastructure with a new high-performance computing platform designed to accelerate the use of AI agents in its logistics software. The company claimed that its strategic investment will enable the creation and deployment of different types of intelligent entities that businesses can configure to support warehouse decision-making.
“This expansion of our AI infrastructure is a key step in advancing agent-based capabilities within our software solutions,” said a Mecalux spokesperson. “Our goal is to enable companies to automate complex digital processes in their warehouses using this intelligent technology.”
Mecalux is a warehouse technology and intralogistics software enterprise with 60 years of experience. The Barcelona, Spain-based company develops automated storage, warehouse management system (WMS) software, and metal racking for all sectors.
AI agents will work alongside human users
“AI agents represent a new and rapidly growing generation of software capable of performing actions autonomously to complete tasks or achieve specific goals,” noted Mecalux. The company said its AI agents will work alongside users in their day-to-day activities, helping them continuously monitor logistics operations and improve efficiency.
Organizations will have access to a catalog of intelligent entities they can activate and configure according to their needs, said Mecalux. It cited examples such as assistants specialized in advanced analytics and operations optimization.
The new infrastructure is designed to train deep learning models and evaluate the performance of AI agents to increase their accuracy.
Mecalux invests in AI for warehouse efficiency
Mecalux Group said its investment in agents is part of its broader strategy to strengthen its AI capabilities and further advance its software offerings with user-centric features.
The Mecalux Group includes Interlake Material Handling, which it acquired in 2009. The group has an extensive worldwide distribution network, 12 manufacturing plants, seven research and development centers, and more than 5,500 employees.
Gartner Inc. recently recognized Mecalux for the fifth time in its “Magic Quadrant” for for its Easy WMS, which incorporates AI.
