Swisslog Holding AG today said it has rebranded its warehouse monorail system under the name FastMove. “The updated product identity reflects enhanced customer value, with a focus on performance, flexibility, and improved equipment lifecycle for long-distance pallet transport,” said the company.
“FastMove represents the next step in the evolution of monorail technology at Swisslog,” said Giovanni Franco, product manager for pallet transportation at Swisslog. “By combining high performance with modular scalability and cost efficiency, we provide our customers with a future-ready solution that supports growth, modernization, and long-term operational excellence.”
FastMove is a high-capacity electrified monorail system designed to move palletized goods efficiently across complex warehouse environments. Swisslog said the next-generation system builds on more than 40 years of its proven technology.
The Buchs, Switzerland-based company added that it enables companies to optimize material flow over long distances while maintaining high throughput and gentle handling of goods. In February 2026, it announced its AgileStore roaming shuttle.
Monorail increases throughput while maintaining flexibility
FastMove provides customers with transport speeds of up to 2 m/s (4.4 mph) and system throughput of more than 600 pallets per hour, according to Swisslog. It said this high-performance capability helps operators meet growing demand and manage peak volumes more efficiently.
Compared with conventional conveyor-based transport systems, Swisslog said FastMove is more cost-effective, particularly in applications requiring long transport distances. Its ability to transport large volumes over extended distances with fewer components can reduce installation and operational costs, while also improving space utilization within the warehouse.
Swisslog added that it designed the system to be flexible and scalable, allowing customers to adapt their intralogistics infrastructure as business requirements evolve. Its modular track design supports complex layouts and can be adjusted with minimal effort, claimed the company.
Throughput scales simply by modifying the number of vehicles operating within the system, enabling a phased investment approach that aligns with business growth and demand fluctuations, Swisslog said.
FastMove designed for demanding environments
FastMove is engineered to perform reliably under a wide range of operating conditions. It operates in environments from deep-freeze temperatures of -30°C (-22°F) to ambient conditions of up to 50°C (122°F).
The system can handle loads weighing up to 1,500 kg (3,306.9 lb.) or up to 3,000 kg (6,613.8 lb.) with twin-load configurations, added Swisslog.
These capabilities make it a versatile solution for the food and beverage, consumer goods, and retail sectors, where performance and robustness are non-negotiable, the company said.
FastMove integrates into existing warehouse IT infrastructure through Swisslog’s SynQ platform, enabling intelligent control of material flows and synchronization between automated and manual processes. The company said it supports transparent, data-driven operations throughout.
Swisslog recently shared the case study of medical device provider Medline, which used SynQ with an AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS).
Upgrades support modernization, extend service life
Swisslog also asserted that FastMove offers clear advantages for existing operations, with components that are suitable for modernization and retrofit projects. This enables customers to upgrade performance and extend the service life of their intralogistics infrastructure without requiring a complete system replacement.
Current upgrades are applied primarily at the controls and software level, with mechatronic requirements addressed where needed, protecting existing investments while ensuring installations remain current and compliant, said Swisslog.
The company noted that its next product release, available by the end of 2026, is designed to meet the requirements under the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and machinery regulations.
