Corvus Robotics Inc. last week said that it has raised $20 million to accelerate its physical AI systems for warehouses and distribution centers. The company, which provides inventory sensors, also named Mohammed Kabir as its new CEO.

Mountain View, Calif.-based Corvus Robotics said its Corvus One drones can fly inside active buildings with no human operators and no localization infrastructure, such as stickers, beacons, or markers. The company‘s Corvus Trident system mounts to existing material handling equipment (MHE) to capture real-time pallet movements.

Corvus said its drone– and forklift-based systems can track inventory at rest and inventory in motion, providing complete coverage of a facility. The company designs and manufactures its full technology stack in the U.S., including the sensors, compute, and AI models running on each device.

Kabir succeeds Wu as Corvus CEO

Kabir is co-founder of Corvus Robotics and was previously its chief technology officer. He has led the company’s technology and product since its founding. Kabir succeeds co-founder Jackie Wu, who will remain on the company’s board of directors.

“Corvus Robotics was founded on the conviction that the physical world generates enormous amounts of data and almost none of it gets captured or acted on,” said Kabir. “Our fleet currently analyzes over a million locations every month, giving our customers an unprecedented view into what actually happens inside their facilities. Stepping into this role is a privilege, and I am glad Jackie is staying on our board.”

“Our goal hasn’t changed since 2017: bring category-defining products to our customers,” Kabir told Automated Warehouse. “AI reshaped software first, and the physical economy is next. Inventory is just our beachhead, we have a lot of exciting new products in the pipeline which will completely change how the industry thinks about warehouse intelligence.”

How are Corvus’ technologies keeping up with changing market needs?

“Physical AI is a data problem,” replied Kabir. “The hard part is edge cases: the pallet wrapped wrong, the puddle of water in the middle of the aisle from a leaky roof, the label that’s half torn off, the boxes that are messily stacked.”

“Our fleet sees thousands of such examples in every hour of operation,” he added. “Since we control the whole stack, everything the fleet sees goes back into making the system better. The companies capturing that kind of data are the only ones who can win in this space. In the end, we cannot serve the market needs without staying at the frontier.”

“Corvus has been the work of my career, and I am stepping back from the CEO role for health reasons alone,” stated Wu. “Kabir and I have been building this together since 2017, starting with the first Corvus prototype in his MIT dorm room.”

“He has architected every part of the technology our customers run today, and has been deeply involved in the running of the business. There is no one better prepared to lead what comes next,” Wu added. “I am grateful to our customers, our team, and our investors for the trust they have placed in us. I look forward to what this team builds from here.”

Corvus Robotics gains customer traction

Corvus Robotics asserted that the problem it has set out to solve “has not gone away.” It noted that many warehouses and distribution centers still run on inventory records that are estimated, delayed, or reconciled by hand. The company said its autonomous systems can provide “ground truth,” with every mission feeding models that enable its entire fleet to be measured and improved continuously.

In February 2026, Corvus launched Corvus One for Cold Chain, which it said can operate in temperatures ranging from ambient environments down to freezers at -20°F (-6.6°C). In April, the company introduced Corvus Trident, an AI copilot for forklifts and reach trucks.

Corvus claimed that its products “close the loop between inventory at rest and inventory in motion,” feeding its Autonomous Inventory Management System (AIMS). The company said it has deployed more than 300 devices to date.

“Most of our customers expand network-wide within six months of deploying Corvus to their first few facilities,” said Kabir. “Seeing the system go live quickly, work in the unique conditions of their facilities, and operate alongside existing people and MHE workflows is really meaningful to them. We are currently deployed across 26 U.S. states, Canada, and Mexico, and most of that growth came from customers doubling and tripling down on Corvus.”

Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits recently expanded to nine distribution centers with more than 40 drones, identifying over 35,000 verified inventory discrepancies. Dermalogica increased inventory imaging frequency by 600% at its global headquarters. GNC increased counting frequency roughly 4x to monthly and redirected 35% of its inventory control labor to higher-value work.

Catalyst Investors leads funding round

Corvus Robotics said its latest investment brings its total amount raised to $38 million to date.

“The $20 million goes into scaling manufacturing and deployments,” Kabir told Automated Warehouse. “We’re hiring across engineering, deployment, and go-to-market. Demand is strong, and we are rapidly adding capacity to serve it.”

Catalyst Investors led the funding. The New York-based growth equity firm has also invested in companies such as Burro. Existing investors S2G Investments, Spero Ventures, and F7 Ventures all returned, joined by new investor Cibus Capital. Sidney Kullar, a principal at Catalyst Investors, is joining the company’s board of directors.

“Corvus Robotics is capturing a layer of data that has never existed, real-time ground-truth visibility into what is actually happening inside a warehouse,” Kullar said. “Kabir and the team have built a platform that works in a punishing physical environment, and that data is becoming the foundation for a much bigger shift in how warehouses are run.”
