An outdoor fashion brand in South Korea had difficulty meeting accelerating customer expectations in its warehouse operations. The company turned to Hai Robotics Co. and Bowoo System Corp., which yesterday said they have successfully implemented HaiPick System 3 at a distribution center in Pyeongtaek, South Korea.
“We are delighted to support [the unnamed brand] in enhancing warehouse flexibility through the implementation of the HaiPick system,” said Sohee (Joy) Lee, general manager of Hai Robotics Korea. “By optimizing space utilization, workforce efficiency, and management processes, we help [it] achieve seamless operations and improved productivity. We remain committed to innovation, pushing boundaries, and delivering greater value to our clients.”
Founded in 2016, Hai Robotics provides automated storage and retrieval systems (ASRS). The Shenzhen, China-based company said its systems offer flexibility and performance for facilities of all sizes.
Hai Robotics was a 2022 RBR50 honoree for the launch of its HaiPick autonomous case-handling robot (ACR).
HaiPick System 3 designed to accelerate fulfillment
The Korean fashion brand was growing rapidly, particularly among younger consumers. It chose HaiPick to transform how it manages inventory and processes orders.
HaiPick System 3 offers to maximize space utilization and has an intelligent warehouse management system (WMS) to optimize workflows, said Hai Robotics. The system uses HaiPick and Fast-Transit Companion autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for dense storage and quick access to priority orders.
HaiPick strategically navigates confined storage zones, reaching up to 8.7 m (28.5 ft.) high to transport inbound and outbound goods for storage and fulfillment. The AMRs retrieve totes from a specialized bottom shelf of the racks and deliver them to workstations at an extreme speed of 4 m/s (8.9 mph) for swift order processing.
Last month, Hai Robotics announced HaiPick Climb, which combines ASRS and rack-climbing AMRs to increase storage and picking efficiency. HaiPick Climb works on rails added to standard racking, said Jordan Zatz, market engagement manager at Hai Robotics.
“It can pick up to two totes deep and is good for brownfield sites,” she told Automated Warehouse at ProMat last week. “The companion HaiPick 3 robot is already at 12 sites.”
Bowoo System and Hai Robotics report results
The fashion brand’s automated system has been running steadily in Gyeonggi Province for one year. Bowoo System and Hai Robotics said it has significantly improved warehouse efficiency, space usage, and order-fulfillment capabilities.
Bowoo is a Seoul-based integrator and provider of conveyors and warehouse automation. It and partner Hai Robotics said they will continue to help warehouse operators in South Korea achieve greater agility and streamline logistics.
Hai Robotics has more than 60 global partners in its network and eight offices worldwide. Last month, its European division joined the Asociación Española de Manutención (FEM-AEM), the Spanish member of the European Materials Handling Federation, and the organization’s new Autonomous Intralogistics Vehicles group to help set industry standards.
U.S. leadership gets promotions
Hai Robotics also announced the promotion of Hunter Senn to vice president of sales and Andrew Tolman to vice president of solutions at its Norcross, Ga.-based U.S. unit.
Since joining Hai Robotics in 2023 as director of sales, Senn has helped position the company as a leading ASRS provider across industries including e-commerce, third-party logistics (3PL), apparel, healthcare, and more. In his new role, Senn said he will focus on driving growth and ensuring that Hai remains at the forefront of innovation and customer service.
“We are building something truly special at Hai Robotics,” Senn said. “I look forward to continuing our momentum and leading our team as we work to solidify Hai’s position as the top ASRS provider globally. My goal is to challenge and support our team, fostering both personal and professional growth while delivering the best possible solutions for our customers.”
Tolman, who has been with Hai Robotics since 2022 as director of solutions, brings more than a decade of expertise in warehouse automation and ASRS. As vice president of solutions, he will focus on strengthening relationships with integration partners, leading advancements in product development, and increasing the flexibility of Hai Robotics’ supply chain to better serve the growing demands of the industry.
“The warehouse automation market is evolving rapidly,” Tolman said. “Businesses are demanding more flexibility without sacrificing storage density, throughput, or ROI [return on investment]. I’m eager to shape solutions that address these challenges while strengthening partnerships and optimizing our supply chain.”
“Hunter and Andrew’s expertise, vision, and commitment to our mission will be instrumental in continuing our rapid growth and delivering the best automation solutions to our customers,” stated Richie Chen, founder and CEO of Hai Robotics. “As the market shifts toward simpler, more adaptable automation solutions with lower barriers to entry, Hai Robotics remains committed to evolving with the industry. With strategic leadership and innovative solutions, we’re well-positioned to accelerate our growth in the U.S. and beyond.”
