ForwardX Robotics today announced a strategic partnership with Optiscan Group as its official distributor in Finland, Denmark, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The Beijing-based provider of autonomous mobile robots, or AMRs, said the collaboration is a significant milestone in its “Go Global” strategy, strengthening its European presence.

“This partnership with Optiscan Group marks a pivotal moment in our journey to redefine automation in the Nordic region,” stated Nicholas Chee, CEO of ForwardX Robotics. “By combining our AMR solutions with Optiscan’s deep regional expertise, we are poised to set new benchmarks in efficiency and innovation.”

“Together, we are not just meeting the needs of today’s industries; we are shaping the future of intelligent automation across the globe,” he added.

The companies said they share a culture of listening to customer feedback to drive innovation and a mission of improving operational workflows.

“Together, ForwardX and Optiscan are set to bring unparalleled advancements to customers, solidifying their positions as industry leaders,” said ForwardX.

ForwardX offers flexible AMRs worldwide

Founded in 2016, ForwardX claimed that it is Asia’s largest provider of vision-based AMRs. The company won a 2022 RBR0 Innovation Award for its flexible AMR deployment at electronics maker TCL, and it raised $61 million in Series C funding in July 2023.

ForwardX’s portfolio includes robotic assistance for case picking, piece picking, pallet movement, intralogistics, and multi-floor fulfillment. Last month, the company launched two smaller models, the Flex 300-SCB Mini and the Flex 300-L Mini for traversing narrow aisles.

As part of its European expansion, ForwardX has also partnered with VOYATZOGLOU Group and its EuroFit subsidiary. The company, whose U.S. office is in Phoenix, said its AMRs serve industries including third-party logistics (3PL), e-commerce, retail, healthcare, and more.

Both ForwardX and Optiscan said they share a commitment to delivering enhanced efficiency, accuracy, and reliability to their customers. The companies also said their partnership could lead to research and development on integration of voice controls and automation for warehouse and manufacturing environments.

Optiscan offers voice, market expertise

“Over 30 years, Optiscan has been committed to deliver leading-edge solutions to logistics industry,” said Jarmo Reunanen, CEO of Optiscan Group. “We are Nordic market leaders in high-volume voice picking, partnering with the most top-level retail companies from distribution centers to shop-floor picking.”

“We are exited to work together with ForwardX Robotics to deliver again a new market-leading innovation to our customers, to further improve the quality and productivity of their intralogistics,” he said.

Optiscan said it offers a wide range of products and services, including voice-directed picking, mobile data capture, and advanced picking systems. The Helsinki, Finland-based company added that it is “committed to enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and productivity for its clients through cutting-edge technology and tailored solutions.”
