Swisslog Holding AG this week announced it will unveil AgileStore, a new four-way roaming shuttle for high-density pallet storage, at MODEX 2026 in April.

“Being ready for the next means looking beyond the automation you need today,” stated Mike Barker, president and CEO of Swisslog Americas.

“It’s about building a competitive advantage that allows your supply chain to perform reliably now while remaining flexible enough to adapt to whatever comes next,” he said. “When companies partner with Swisslog, they gain a solution designed for today’s challenges and tomorrow’s opportunities.”

AgileStore offers multi-directional capabilities

Swisslog said its automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) offers a modular solution for warehouses seeking to maximize space utilization and adapt quickly to changing demand. The company said AgileStore’s debut highlights its partnership with Eurofork.

The system supports forward, backward, lateral, and vertical travel, Swisslog said. Unlike traditional bi-directional shuttles, the roaming pallet shuttle can transition across aisles and levels via integrated lift systems.

Buchs, Switzerland-based Swisslog said AgileStore’s multi-directional capability enables:

  • Cross-aisle travel and level changes without additional equipment, allowing any shuttle to access any load.
  • Dynamic routing based on real-time warehouse needs.
  • Reduced manual interventions and simplified operations.
  • Highly flexible storage layouts, including deep lane configurations.

Swisslog to bring product portfolio to MODEX 2026

Swisslog said it delivers data-driven and robotic systems for logistics automation. The KUKA Group unit offers services includes consulting, concept studies, project implementation, and customer service. Swisslog said it has completed more than 2,500 projects for its customers.

Last year, the company debuted its IntraMove autonomous mobile robots (AMRs). It designed them to move payloads up to 3,000 kg (6,613.8 lb.). Swisslog said the AMRs can be integrated into larger solutions for horizontal pallet or box transport, or they can function standalone for order preparation. The AMRs are designed to offer flexibility based on transport needs.

In addition to AgileStore, Swisslog also plans to demonstrate its SynQ software at MODEX. The system orchestrates warehouse operations, enabling customers to respond dynamically to changing order volumes, labor constraints, and inventory fluctuations.

The company said SynQ incorporates features from WMS, WES, and WCS. The fleet management software can also communicate with external equipment such as doors and elevators using protocols such as MQTT, ModBus, or OPC UA.
