Tompkins Robotics yesterday launched tSortPost, its latest autonomous mobile robot for sortation. The company claimed that the latest addition to its portfolio promises to transform parcel sortation with minimal infrastructure requirements and rapid deployment capabilities.
tSortPost can sort parcels, deliver totes or cartons around a warehouse, or feed an order-consolidation system such as the tSort unit-sortation systems. Tompkins said it offers ease of deployment and the opportunity for expansion.
“tSortPost is poised to significantly impact the industry by providing an innovative and efficient solution to the complex challenges of parcel sortation,” stated Mike Futch, CEO of Tompkins Robotics. “The tSortPost adds to our extensive sortation abilities through our tSort product line, which delivers an unparalleled solution set designed to empower businesses worldwide, driving operational excellence and productivity.”
Founded in 2017, Tompkins Robotics is a global developer of robotic sortation systems for distribution and fulfillment operations. The Orlando, Fla.-based company said its tSort tabletop sortation system said can be configured to operate in any size floor space.
tSortPost to increase speed with minimal overhead
Tompkins says tSortPost offers numerous benefits to parcel sortation. These include a stable design for enhanced speed, customizable options with a crossbelt or a tilt tray divert mechanism, an adjustable elevation of up to 1.5 m (4.9 ft.), and minimal infrastructure requirements without the need for extensive hardware.
“tSortPost is designed to be accessible for companies of all sizes,” said Jim Serstad, vice president of robotics engineering at Tompkins Robotics, said. “It serves as an excellent entry point for smaller warehouses looking to implement automation while also offering scalability to expand their capabilities into larger operations.”
tSortPost is powered by the Transcend software suite, which Tompkins said can optimize performance, ensure integration with existing systems, and create versatile and efficient solutions.
Tompkins Robotics grows hardware, software portfolio
Tompkins Robotics said that tSortPost joins its range of sortation systems, ensuring that warehouses of all sizes can benefit from automation. It added that its autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) address diverse needs.
The PickPal line is the company‘s expansion to floor-based operations. Tompkins introduced the first generation of PickPal AMRs in March 2023.
Tompkins added that it has updated its warehouse execution system (WES) to empower businesses to move past the constraints of traditional operations. In May, Tompkins Robotics rebranded and upgraded its tWES platform.
It also recently released the Transcend Robotics Execution Platform, an expanded software suite to power automated warehouse applications.
