OPEX Corporation has named Trew, LLC as a new integration partner. The companies say the collaboration will empower Trew to expand its portfolio with OPEX’s automation technology.
OPEX’s Infinity ASRS, Sure Sort small item robotic sorting system, and Perfect Pick goods-to-person systems will all be part of the partnership. The Moorestown Township, N.J.-based company’s systems will be integrated with Trew’s warehouse execution software (WES) and other technologies.
There are three OPEX products Trew will be integrating. The first is OPEX’s Infinity system. Infinity is an automated storage and retrieval system (ASRS) that the company said is designed for e-commerce and micro-fulfillment, store replenishment, and omnichannel distribution.
OEPX introduced Infinity in March 2022. It uses OPEX’s iBOT robots that travel along a modular racking design. The robots deliver totes to decoupled presentation ports. The iBOTs can handle up to 70 lbs at a time. They also recharge with their ultra-capacitors as they navigate the system, meaning the robots don’t need to be removed to recharge.
The Perfect Pick system is an ASRS aisle system. OPEX said its easy to expand as a business grows and is designed for e-commerce and micro-fulfillment. It aims to reduce reliance on labor to pick and ship orders. Infinity and Perfect Pick both run on OPEX’s Cortex software platform. The platform manages the picking and inventory aspects of distribution centers.
Finally, OPEX designed Sure Sort for compact and scalable small-item order consolidation and parcel sortation. This makes it ideal for e-commerce, store, and micro-fulfillment. Sure Sort is a scalable and configurable automated put wall. The system can help companies meet the growing demand for smaller, more frequent orders while improving overall efficiency.
“Successful automated material handling solutions require the right mix of process, people and technology,” said Trew’s chief revenue officer John Naylor. “Having access to an ecosystem of TREWpartner technologies allows us to collaborate and deliver tailored solutions where we all win together – clients, our partners, and Trew.”
OPEX was founded in 1973, and has decades of experience in warehouse automation. It has offices in Texas, France, Germany, Switzerland, the UK and Australia.
