Most maturity models measure the technology: what’s installed and how much of it runs on its own. This one measures whether an organization can keep its automation running, and change it when the work changes.

Three axes set a site’s level: tech stack, ownership, and deployment track record. A site sits at the highest level where all three hold. The fourth axis, operating profile, sets the level the work actually needs. Higher isn’t automatically better.

The Warehouse Automation Maturity Model: four levels (Foundation, Borrowed, Owned, Adaptive) described by tech stack, ownership and track record, and a matrix of maturity level against operating complexity.
