The Raymond Corp. plans to show its latest products at Automate this month in Chicago, including its new Raymond Courier automated lift truck. The company said it is continuing to build on its legacy of more than 100 years as a provider of systems “that optimize, connect, and automate warehouse operations.”

“Raymond is committed to serving as a comprehensive intralogistics solutions provider supporting our customers in their automation journey to help improve their operations,” stated Shawn Donahue, product marketing manager at Raymond.

“Raymond offers intelligent intralogistics solutions, from automated guided vehicles [AGVs] and robotics to automated storage and retrieval systems [ASRS], that will support our customers’ specific material handling needs,” Donahue added. “At Automate, we look forward to showcasing how attendees can optimize, connect and automate their operations.”

Raymond said it integrates automation, telematics, virtual reality, and advanced energy systems to optimize warehouse and distribution operations and to improve performance. The Greene, N.Y.-based unit of Toyota Material Handling North America said its electric forklifts are engineered to increase efficiency and to provide ecological and economic benefits.

In April, Raymond introduced its 4260 stand-up counterbalanced truck with features for ease of use and factory-installed lithium-ion batteries and integration with iWAREHOUSE telematics.

At Booth 3248 in McCormick Place from June 22 to 25, Automate attendees can see Raymond’s offerings in action and speak with experts to learn how managing the logistical flow of information within a warehouse or distribution center can provide flexibility and scalability. The company said its exhibit will include material handling automation, integrated intelligent warehouse technologies and operator-assist systems.

Automated material handling

Raymond said its integrated automation solutions are designed to optimize supply chain operations. Its display will include:

Integrated intelligent warehouse technologies

The company said its iWAREHOUSE suite, combines telematics, automation, and labor management tools to collect and report vehicle and operator data. Its goal is to help optimize operational safety, efficiency, and productivity. The iWAREHOUSE connected technologies solutions to be demonstrated include:

  • iWAREHOUSE FieldSense (iW.FieldSense) — Designed to be a robust proximity-notification system, iW.FieldSense alerts pedestrians and lift truck operators when they come within a predefined distance between properly equipped lift trucks and pedestrians.
  • iWAREHOUSE ObjectSense Detection & Notification System (iW.ObjectSense) — Developed to reinforce operator training and best practices, iW.ObjectSense alerts operators with audible and visual notifications of objects within the lift truck’s approximate travel path and provides slowdown or stop functionality based on application and environmental needs.
  • iWAREHOUSE Real-Time Location System (iW.RTLS) — The next-generation iW.RTLS can slow down a Raymond lift truck or bring it to a controlled stop within a facility’s defined zones. It is designed to help keep operators and lift trucks in the right place at the right time and pedestrians secure.
  • iWAREHOUSE Integrated Tether System — This operator-assist tool is designed to alert operators and managers and to limit lift truck functionality if an operator is not properly tethered. The wireless connection in the Integrated Tether System is compatible with Raymond lift trucks and can be paired with iWAREHOUSE.

Raymond offers operator-assist technologies

Raymond said its operator-assist technologies use multiple data sources, such as lidar and voice or visual cue systems, to guide operators in real time. These technologies and order-picking solutions can help optimize operations and maximize labor, it asserted.
