Sereact yesterday said that it has expanded its partnership with Arvato SE, a leading supply chain and e-commerce service provider. Sereact will deploy its single-arm robots across sites in the U.S. and Europe, bringing Arvato’s total rollout to six units.

“Integrating Sereact’s AI-powered robots directly at our AutoStore ports and conveyor lines allows us to automate picking with a level of flexibility that conventional systems simply can’t match,” stated Markus Billmann, senior expert in process automation at Arvato. “The technology adapts to our changing product mix in real time, and scaling it across multiple sites gives us a consistent automation standard across our network.”

Arvato is a global third-party logistics provider (3PL) with clients in consumer products, technology, healthcare, automotive, and publishing. It operates complex distribution and fulfillment networks across more than 100 locations worldwide.

The Germany-based company , which has over 20,000 employees, has worked with Geekplus mobile robots. Arvato acquired THINK Logistics in March 2026.

AI-driven robots to provide Arvato with adaptable picking

Within the next few months, Sereact plans to roll out one system in Memphis, Tenn.; four in Dortmund, Germany; and on in Gütersloh, Germany. The robots will address two distinct use cases. At two locations, they will pick items directly from AutoStore bins and place them precisely into cartons or totes, combining the storage density of goods-to-person (G2P) automation with the flexibility of AI-driven manipulation.

At the third site, the robots will pick from and place onto conveyor lines, bringing the same adaptive handling to a high-throughput environment. Sereact systems will use its Cortex 2.5 software to handle a wide range of items with human-like dexterity.

The company said they can adapt in real time to changing products, packaging, and order profiles without the need for pre-programming or fixed item catalogs.

By concentrating four robots in Dortmund, Arvato said it plans to establishes that site as an anchor location for high-throughput automated picking. The deployments in Gütersloh and Memphis will extend the technology across additional regions and operations. The companies asserted that the multi-site approach demonstrates their commitment to building a scalable, resilient, and globally consistent automation standard.

Sereact shows embodied AI value, raises funding

Sereact said its expanded deployment strengthens its leadership position in next-generation warehouse automation and supports Arvato’s strategy to enhance operational efficiency and capacity across its fulfillment footprint.

“Deploying across three sites on two continents demonstrates the maturity and flexibility of our technology,” said Ralf Gulde, co-founder and CEO of Sereact. “Automating the pick from AutoStore into cartons and containers is exactly where AI-driven manipulation delivers measurable value — and Arvato’s confidence in scaling from initial pilots to live operations reflects the real-world performance our systems provide in demanding fulfillment environments.”

Founded in 2021, Sereact has developed software that enables embodied AI such as single-arm picking cells and humanoid robots to perceive, understand, and act in dynamic environments. The Stuttgart, Germany-based company said its Cortex 2.0 runs more than 200 live production systems that have completed more than 1 billion picks for customers in e-commerce, 3PL, automotive, and grocery logistics.

This week, Zalando, a leading European technology platform for fashion and lifestyle, joined Sereact’s Series B round, which has grown to $116 million. Zalando joined as a strategic investor, alongside lead investor Headline, as well as Bullhound Capital, Daphni, Felix Capital, Air Street Capital, Creandum, and Point Nine.

Sereact has about 100 employees and is expanding in the U.S. with a new office in Boston.
